DONEGAL’S PROTEST WALKERS TAKE LATE LATE SHOW BY STORM

first_imgThe walkers who set off from Donegal three weeks ago have tonight given protesters around the country a voice.Joe Murphy and four other members of Donegal Action Against Austerity took the Late Late Show by storm as they explained their reasons why they have undertaken the marathon walk. All five members who appeared on the show explained their reasons why they have put their lives on hold to walk more than 300 miles from Malin Head to Sligo and on to Dublin. Donegaldaily.com was there when the walkers set off from a very windy and lonely Malin Head on March 9th.And despite all their trials and tribulations, the group remianded good to their word as they arrived in Dublin earlier today.Joe Murphy, an unemployed builder from Culdaff spoke for millions when he said “I just want the Government to listen for the good of the Irish people and not for the good of Germany.”Their promise to remain together was even challenged by RTE when Late Late Show producers asked for just four members of the group to appear on the show. But even the national broadcaster eventually caved in and agreed to put five seats on set for the interview with Ryan Tubridy.Tomorrow the team begin their final walk to the National Convention Centre where they will stage a silent protest outside the Fine Gael Ard Fheis. They are encouraging protesters to join them on their final leg with a number of buses from Donegal already confirmed. DONEGAL’S PROTEST WALKERS TAKE LATE LATE SHOW BY STORM was last modified: March 31st, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Donegal Action Against AusterityLate Late Showlast_img read more
