I wish they would stay away, I hate to say it, but it is true. I get the Mormon missionaries, the Jehovia Witnesses, young teenagers selling cheesecakes, some selling home security systems, magazines, cleaning supplies, even steaks. I don’t like to be rude, but the way the world is now, and if I haven’t seen them before, then I am leery. Unfortunately, things are only going to get worse. Updating the home invasion story from Wednesday:Police arrested a 15-year-old male who broke into a home but was chased away by the female resident wielding a knife and chasing him out of the house, according to an arrest report from the Apopka Police Department. On Wednesday afternoon APD officers responded to a call from the Rock Creek Street area in reference to a home invasion which was still in progress.According to the report, the woman was home alone at around 5:50 PM Wednesday when the suspect knocked on her door and asked if he could use her restroom.  The woman asked the suspect who he was. He told her that he lived in the neighborhood. The woman decided to let him in and directed him to the guest bathroom. She then went to her kitchen. While there, she realized that it was probably not a good idea to have allowed a stranger to enter her home. She then grabbed a knife and positioned it in a drawer. After leaving the restroom, the suspect asked the woman if she could help him find his way back home. They went outside and she used the GPS on her cell phone to point him in the correct direction. The woman walked back to her doorway, but before she could enter the house the boy ran back toward her and startled her. He apologized for scaring her but then pushed her into the home, grabbed her by the neck, covered her mouth and dragged her to the guest room.”If you don’t stop screaming, I will break your neck,” the teen repeatedly told the victim as he had her in a headlock on the bed, according to the arrest report. He demanded her car keys because he wanted to drive from Apopka to Poinciana to visit his girlfriend, according to the report. The woman asked the suspect to get off her so she could get the keys for him. He agreed, which allowed her to get the knife she had placed in the kitchen drawer before the attack, police said. The suspect fled the house when he saw the woman was armed. Police said the woman and one of her neighbors chased after the teen as he ran through the neighborhood, but quickly lost site of him.APD officers responded and, after speaking with the victim, broadcast the suspect’s description via radio.  APD Officer Crutcher spotted the suspect on  Rolling Hills Lane and arrested him, less than a mile from the victim’s house.. The teen later admitted to forcing his way into the victim’s home and trying to steal her keys, the report said. The 15-year-old suspect was charged with robbery without a weapon or firearm and transported to the Orange County Juvenile Assessment Center. 3 COMMENTS March 12, 2017 at 1:39 pm LEAVE A REPLY Cancel reply Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Mama Mia You have entered an incorrect email address! Please enter your email address here Please enter your name herecenter_img I really like the COA’s new website. I did encounter a problem however, on the police website I typed in the Apopka police website internet address, and got it up immediately, and went to the news section and saw the 2-22-2017 article about the arrests of the robbery and home invasion suspects, and at the bottom of the story, it stated “Read full report” so I clicked on it, and every time a google G would come up, and it would take each word, example:” read” and give me the definition of read, and if I clicked on” full”, it would give me the definition of full, and if I clicked on” report”, the same thing……? Okay, I admit I am not computer smart, far from it, but I tried my best to take my finger and click onto the whole, “Read Full Report” and it didn’t work for me…..this was on my cell phone….what am I doing wrong? I never could get the full report up of the article. Gov.
