Letter to Editor: ‘Huge’ Thanks for All Who Helped in Postal Food Drive

first_imgA “HUGE” thank you goes to the Ocean City Postal workers, members of the Ecumenical Council, Food Cupboard volunteers, members of the community (youth and adults alike) who gave so generously of their time to assist with the Dec. 6 Postal Food Drive by weighing, sorting and organizing the food donations. We received approximately 8,352 pounds of food from our community.Additional thanks go to:Laurie Taylor for the advertising flyersMark Kelly for working with Super Fresh to borrow/return carts for our use.Super Fresh for allowing us to use the carts.Jeff Deal for organizing donations from Wesley ManorAnd to the following groups for helping to sort and organize the donations as they came in:Lucy Wiltshire’s Girl Scout troop“Men in Service” from Coastal ChristianSt. Damien Parish’s CCD classesOcean City High School studentsMembers of Ocean City community churches and Ocean City residentsWe are so blessed to live in such a caring, giving community that pulled together to assist with this drive.
