first_imgSaturday night matches could become a regular feature in the Premier League starting in the 2019-20 season.There will be as many as 30 extra fixtures broadcast live with a Saturday 7.45pm slot being considered to host these extra games.A decision on the proposal will be made by top-flight clubs later this year, ahead of the tender for domestic TV rights, according to The Times.Many fans would oppose the decision due to the difficulty of booking travel home late on Saturday night.If the new plan is ratified broadcasters will be asked to tender for the various packages, with a decision expected to be announced either before Christmas or early in the new year.The existing TV deals with Sky TV and BT Sport are worth £5.14billion with global rights now at a staggering £8.5bn.
